Hi, I’m Kaley.

(Hi, Kaley.)

I started writing this blog in February 2008 after many months of stalking others’ blogs and contemplating whether or not I really had any blog-worthy material about which to write. Finally one dreary Winter evening I guess the stars were aligned and I was feeling especially brave when I finally jumped aboard the blogging bandwagon, writing my first post about my favorite topic: Nothing In Particular.

My blog started out as a mere hobby, something that I figured I would never really get into, similar to my futile attempts at recreational jogging and driving at or below the posted speed limit. But now that this blog has taken over the larger portion of my thoughts, I am certain that it could now be described as an obsession. Or even more precisely, cheap therapy.

Either way, I really enjoy the way blogging takes up time that I would otherwise be spending organizing my  junk drawer or shaving my legs.

I’m twenty four years old, have been married to my sweet husband Rob for a year and half, and have the most adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel you have ever seen, Oliver. He’s probably cuter than your kid. I’m just saying.

I am newly pregnant, so we are expecting our first bundle of joy in late August. We’re fairly certain that Oliver is going to face quite a reality check once that time comes and he realizes that he isn’t my only baby anymore. Poor thing might require some therapy himself. We’re a lot alike.

I love my family and am one of those people who gets along with her parents, so after I graduated from St. Mary’s College at Notre Dame in 2007 my dad was gracious enough to rescue me from the dreaded public accounting job looming over my head and offered me a position to work with him as the CFO/Admin/Girl Friday of his architecture firm. Because he saved me from the annual “busy season” (read: THE END OF MY LIFE) that I would have endured as a tax accountant, I am forever indebted to him and intend to pay him back with as many Subway veggie sandwiches as he can handle.

I also now assist my mom with her new gift shop, Orange Tree, and do things like accompany her on business trips (the term being used very loosely, you understand) to New York where we buy inventory for the store, spend dangerous amounts of money, and treat ourselves to enormous amounts of good food. Yeah, it’s tough work, but somebody’s gotta do it. And I’m always willing to help.

I enjoy working out, David Kahn jeans, ice cold Coke Zero, the Food Network, Pineapple Crush candles, sleeping in, Granger Community Church, and anything orange.
