Hello, it’s Courtney. The sister in the really stupid picture in the previous post, visiting in from Because My Sister Made Me to update you on our favorite blogger’s labor status. That’s right, labor status. Well, sort of.

OK, this morning, Mo called me and let me know that Kaley went to the doctor at 9:30 for her delivery date doctor’s appointment. Apparently she was having Braxton Hicks contractions, and since I go to college and value the knowledge that is Wikipedia, I will enlighten the rest of you who have never had a baby or spent much time in the presence of a pregnant woman as to what this exactly entails: Braxton Hicks contractions are a tightening of the uterine muscles for one to two minutes and is thought to be an aid to the body in its preparation for birth. Not all expectant mothers have these contractions. They are thought to be part of the process of effacement, the thinning of the cervix.

So, she’s having the contractions pretty regularly from what I understand and as this is occuring, the baby’s heart rate is dipping a little. I don’t think it is unusal for this to happen but just to run some stress tests on the baby, they went ahead and admitted her to Memorial Hospital where she will be delivering the baby.

Rob is probably at the hospital by now because at 10:30, I heard he was on his way home to get Kaley’s suitcase and then en route to Memorial. Don’t plan on going shopping at Orange Tree, either because Mom is definitely going to bail on her job and begin her Mamie duties STAT. Ava is way more important than someone interested in buying an envirosack, unfortunately.

If I hear anything else, I will be back to update you all because God bless you, I know there are some die-hard Cheap Therapy lovers who are chomping at the bit. Thanks for thinking about Kaley, Rob, and Avalon right now. Keep them in your prayers, and I will hopefully be back soon with some news.
